The Elven turf to land my thoughts.

I've been following sister BK Shivani's pravachan for sometime now. A friend of mine had recommended them to me when I was struggling with some situations. I can connect to many of the topics she speaks about. One such topic that keeps recurring is this - ' Accept others as they are ' Obviously this is easier said than done, and not something that can happen overnight. But on sincerely practicing, it truly can bring one peace because you do away with expectations and hence disappointments - which are the key to discontentment in life. So, this Diwali let's give everyone on our list this one gift - I ACCEPT YOU AS YOU ARE.

Inspite of all the vague speculations of violence and chaos by our politicians and media, the public has shown it's stance. I think the atrocities we have witnessed in the past decade have matured us as humans, to be patient, resilient and to respect life. Like he says in Angels and Demons, it's horror that unites people and hope that keeps them going. My heartfelt tributes to our citizens. MERA BH A RAT MAHAAN . On a lighter note, we watched the movie District 9 last night. Either we are getting too old to appreciate such movies or the ratings are just hyped up. It was so gory, we had to pause to eat our dinner. Really, I see nothing special about this movie, nothing worth commenting about. Technically it might have been a challenge to have so many aliens running around humans, but it was a huge disappointment delivered by the Father of the Rings.

As some of you know I sincerely follow Brad Feld's blog and this is one that he'd posted a couple of months ago. The art form (by RSA Animate) is very new to me and totally floored me as did the message that it conveyed. I think managers and aspiring mangers should take this to heart:

Yesterday was my boy's 10th birthday. Unbelievable. They grow so fast. Anil and I wanted to make it special for him, so, we bought him 10 different kinds of gifts including soccer gear, a plant for him to take care of, an angel fish, ofcourse a wii game, the latest Artemis Fowl etc. and boy you should've seen the look on his face while he was ripping open each of them - he was the same little 2 year old whose face used to light up seeing "Blue" and "Steve" on the screen. No matter how much they grow, they're still babies to you and it makes your day when they go to bed saying, "Ahhh, I wish this day never ended...". HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUNSTER!!

My husband just sent me a picture titled "Guess Who" and guess who it was - none other than my yesteryears' deity Girija from Geethanjali. I Googled her up and found her blog. Wow, I'm so excited!!! I added it to my list of favorite blogs - enjoy being a post away from Geetakka.

Maybe it's a couple of years too late, but I'm totally realizing the power of SNSs. I'm finding sooooo many of my long-last friends and it's a pleasure to walk down the memory lane with them. Just the concept of networking is so mind-blowing. I never paid much attention to the 6 degrees of separation phenomenon but it's coming true in the form of my Facebook network. No offence to orkut (for which I was infact an official advocate a year ago :) or any other SNS, but the winner takes it all.
