Watching Spanglish the other day, something struck me close to heart: Flor says to Christina "Is what you want for yourself to become someone very different than me?" I guess I do want my children to be like me, maybe better, but I want them to be the kind of people that I can share my favorite song with, my favorite joke with and not have them look at me like I'm from the Mesozoic Era.
